A Friend of Mine…Margaret Almon 2

Good Morning Everyone,

I hope you all had a good weekend.  I didn’t realize how tired I was until I stopped and then I got some much-needed sleep.  Thank the Lord for weekends when you can get some extra rest.

So, you remember a friend of mine…Margaret Almon, she and I are working on a project together called Mosaic Matches.  She makes all kinds of mosaics including pendants which are absolutely beautiful.  And I am going to be making matching earrings.  So now that I am opening my Etsy shop today  there are already a few Mosaic Matches there to choose from  and I am going to regularly post as many as I can.  If you are a lucky owner of one of her pendants and it doesn’t yet have a match contact me and I will be glad to design one just for you.

Please check out both our stores on Etsy:  Margaret’s Nutmeg Designs and My A Jewelry Masterpiece for You

Thanks for coming and I hope to talk with you soon.

Have a Great Week,

~ Lori

After Graduation

It has been a whirlwind week!  Friends and Family came in from out-of-town and joined us at graduation on Wednesday.  I think I am still in shock.  I made as much preparation as I could and everything went great but Wow, it was here and gone so fast I hardly had a moment to relish it.

As any parent, I am so proud of Keith!  He has worked hard and done a great job!  All of this makes me think of times past, of things accomplished, even some regrets.  But I have to lay all of those aside and look to the future now.  Keith has a bright future ahead of him indeed.  I just got an email from work services with the name of Keith’s job coach, JD.  We are really looking forward to meeting him and starting this new adventure into adulthood together.

I just stop and think of the day and all of the smiles and encouragement and even some tears, all of the well wishes and further encouragement from teachers and friends.  It was a wonderful day indeed.  Just for those of you who know me it was only a two tissue day.  That was really good for me!  For the rest of you, I am a big crier and I carry my own box of tissues to events like this and sometimes I use the whole box.  Yes, I know it is pitiful.  But as I said it was a very good day.  The hard part is not to see those folks who have been such an integral part of Keith’s life for 12 years.  They have been such an encouragement to me over the years.  So, a HUGE Thank you goes out to Centennial School of Lehigh University and to Dr. George and all the staff and ESPECIALLY THE TEACHERS!  We Love you all!  Thank you all from the bottom of my heart!  I could never thank you enough.  You make a big difference in the lives of young people and families.  May the Lord continue to bless the work of Centennial School.

Keith and some of his teachers over the years.

Thank you!

Week 3: Easter

Hello Everyone,

My thoughts this week bring me to a time in my life when someone laid down their life for mine.  As you may know I received a heart transplant almost 12 years ago now.  It will be 12 years the end of May.  When I think back to that time, it is again impressed upon me that a young woman died so that I could live.  What happened to her was a terrible car accident.  It took her away from her family and friends but I lived because she died.

We never met.  She lived over 600 miles from where I live and yet I am totally indebted to her and her family.  My son was 8 years old when I came home from the hospital.  Without their sacrifice my son would not have his mother, but because of that accident there is a mother who no longer has her daughter.

I could never ever say thank you enough or I’m sorry enough…so I live.  I live to the fullest that I can in appreciation for every day that I have with my son, the rest of my family and friends.  Every day I wake up and Thank God for a new day.

There was someone else who died for me.  God sent his son, Jesus, to die so that I could live in heaven with him for all eternity.  Because Jesus died, paying the debt for my sins on the cross, I have a personal relationship with The Father.  I pray that you know Him in a personal way too.  If you don’t and you want to know more about this personal relationship, I would be very happy to tell you all about my Jesus.  He is more than just a name or a historical character.  He is my Savior and Lord.  He is the one who has brought me through transplant and because He lives, I LIVE!!!

God Bless you all this Easter,
