Well it’s the end of another week, I hope you all have a wonderful weekend and especially a Great Mother’s Day this Sunday. Happy Mother’s Day to all you Moms out there. I don’t know about you, but this weekend I am looking forward to doing absolutely nothing. My mom and I have decided that we have been way to busy already this month so we are celebrating Mother’s Day very quietly, at least that’s the plan. Church in the morning and then relaxing the rest of the day. How about you? What are your plans for Mother’s Day? Are you taking Mom out for a meal, a day shopping, or maybe you’re taking a meal in to your mom. However you are planning on spending the day, make sure you tell your mom that you love her.
My son, Keith, loves me. I know he does, but he never says the words without prompting. He will make my year if he walks up to me on Mother’s Day, gives me a big hug and says “I love you, Mom.” without anyone telling him to do it. Keith is autistic. Autism at its root is a communications disorder. He has never held conversation like you and I do. He is beginning to talk in complete sentences, but my fear is that after he graduates the end of this month he will regress back to talking in only 2-3 word phrases and he may never hold a “real” conversation with me. So talk with your Mom. Tell her that you love her this Mother’s Day because saying it out loud is important. She wants to hear your words.
And if you haven’t gotten Mom a gift for Mother’s Day consider some jewelry, maybe something like these. She will love it! Have A Great Weekend! Lori
